Dec 5, 2025 Yes, you saw correctly. Since the previous blog, it has been 3551 days. NO S***.

When they say that time flies by, they’re serious. To repeat. Based on my usual and customary pattern of both thought and action, I see that it has been YEARS since I contributed to these musings.  How do you spell Procrastination —   JPaulBear. That, by the way, continues to be my pen name (or keyboard as the case might be). So what has happened to open the gates of creative juices and get them flowing? Strong possibility that the falls and brain surgery ( burr surgery that left 4 holes with caps in my skull, which continue to freak me out a bit ), in the summer of 2024, contributed. Certainly, something has changed. In one respect, brain file folders unstimulated for years are now open, and in another, those quick recalls of remembrance have been relegated to a Rolodex in the basement.

Those creative juices have engaged me in substantial volunteer-focused efforts. Both the time and dollars to support these are tales for another blog. Needless to say, impulsively jumped into 5+ movements. which created “troubles of my own making” again. After several months of bouncing around and feeling the stress, physically ( I am 77, you know), emotionally, and spiritually. Clarity finally returned, and I respectfully left 3 of them, and the 2 that remain are intertwined: sobriety and meditation.

Both sobriety and mediation are eternal topics that appear to be getting a lot of playtime. All forms of social media tout their effects, good and ungood (Grammarly wants me to change this to bad, yet isn’t ungood ie not good the same). Obviously, I’m not AI with this declaration. Though I have found that AI can be quite helpful. My personal choice is one called Perplexity (NO ENDORSEMENT HERE). Has done an amazing job gathering information, compiling, and presenting. That will be a subject for another day.

Actually, sobriety and meditation will be subjects, musings for another day. I’m just happy that the juices are flowing, and most of what I’m writing seems to make sense, at least to me. AND I’m exploring PODCASTing. More will be revealed. 😊
